The Kid Should See This

This slow-motion macro hornet flight compilation video by German nature videographer Lothar Lenz feel a bit like a 1960s monster movie. The camera angle makes the insects look larger than life and the unnatural speed mimics the movements of a stop-motion model or an elaborate puppet.

But these are, in fact, actual hornets drinking from a puddle of water or a sweet liquid in the Eifel region of Germany. Turn up the sound and listen to that buzzing.
